Hypnotherapy & Hypnosis

WHAT IS HYPNOSIS?

Hypnosis can be defined as a comfortable relaxed state in which a person can do an inner search. It’s a wonderfully stress-free way of accessing unconscious strengths, resources and emotional states to help you overcome past fears and negative programs, and put the joy back in your life.

I also teach Self-Hypnosis so you can experience the benefits of hypnosis and relaxation whenever you need. I have personally used self-hypnosis to relieve the discomfort of minor medical interventions, and childbirth.

WHAT DOES HYPNOSIS FEEL LIKE?

You will already have experienced hypnosis such a when daydreaming or those pleasant, dreamlike states where we “drift off”. The style of hypnosis we will use during your sessions, is a systematic method that allows you to enter these “dreamlike or trance states” deliberately and with awareness. This enables you to communicate directly with your unconscious mind to make suggestions or instructions tailor-made for you to make the changes you wish to. All you have to do is relax and enjoy the experience.

WILL I BE ASLEEP?

Hypnotherapy & Hypnosis, Will I be asleep

No, you are awake and aware of everything that is happening throughout the session.

WILL I BE UNDER THE HYPNOTIST’S POWER?

No, you are in complete control. You can’t be made to do anything you don’t want to, and you can’t be taken into hypnosis against your will.

WHAT IF I CAN’T BE HYPNOTISED?

Hypnosis a collaborative process, and as long as you wish to enter hypnosis you will. You’ll be talked into a nice place of relaxation by your hypnotherapist. Everyone’s experience is unique, easy and enjoyable.

WHAT IS NLP – NEURO LINGUISTIC PROGRAMMING

NLP is an offshoot of hypnotherapy and psychotherapy. It uses language and a deep understanding of how our neurological system works to change the patterns or programs that control or block our behaviors. It is often combined with hypnosis.

Experience shows it is often the “things” we tell ourselves, the messages we send to our brains, that stop us from achieving as much as we want to achieve. Sometimes those messages are learnt from parents or others whose opinions we have unwittingly taken on board. These negative messages block our abilities and progress. This is when NLP is a particularly effective therapy.

WHAT ARE EMEI, EMDR, AND BWRT?

Hypnotherapy & Hypnosis

I may well use other advanced hypnotherapeutic techniques such as EMEI (Integrated Eye Movement Therapy) and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing) and BWRT (Brain Working Recursive Therapy) alongside Hypnosis and NLP, to help clients wishing to overcome trauma or PTSD.
